The SCO adopts the Bishkek Declaration
One line
The 26th Shanghai Cooperation Organisation summit adopted the Bishkek Declaration and decisions on security, connectivity, climate, energy, narcotics, and institutional reform.
Summary
The SCO brings India into the same Eurasian forum as China, Russia, Pakistan, Iran, and the Central Asian republics. It gives India a platform for counter-terrorism and continental diplomacy, but sharp differences over connectivity and regional politics limit common action.
PYQ pattern
UPSC can test the SCO through membership, permanent bodies, Central Asian geography, counter-terrorism, connectivity, and India's strategic interests. See the official UPSC question-paper archive.
